In order to solve, and understand, this issue, three of Nike's most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless. Back in 2002 the project of mapping both men's and women's feet was initiated. 8 years later the Nike Free entered the market, and the result was a shoe that 'understood' your feet; how it lands, pressure points and where your toes are.
